Ohioans are becoming more conscious of the impact that utilities have on the environment. As the residential utility consumer advocate, the Office of the Ohio Consumers’ Counsel (OCC) has worked with major utilities throughout the state to develop green pricing programs. These programs allow consumers to pay a small premium on their electric bills to support the development of renewable energy.
Customers of American Electric Power are now able to support the development of renewable energy through the company's new Green Pricing Option. The program is a result of collaborative efforts of the OCC, the utility and other parties.
AEP customers are encouraged to sign up for this program and bring Ohio and the United States closer to energy independence.
